The 214 Challenge
What's the connection with the fells of the Lake District?
There are 214 summits listed by A.Wainwright in hisPictorial guides to the Lakes and it has become a popular challenge to try and climb them all.
Eileen Jones is dedicating her final summit to the Hand inHand Trust and, keeping the same arbitrary number, has launched a fundraising challenge.
The aim is to encourage 214 people to sign up and pledge £10 a month to the Hand in Hand Trust.
There's no deadline or timescale, but we'll be keeping a tally on the figures and will report back regularly on the progress of the challenge.
If you would like sign up please complete the pledge form and return it to us. It will make a huge difference tot he lives of poor families in Peru.

Arctic Challenge for Hand in Hand Trust
Martin Beardall, Hazel Campbell and Martin’s 19 year old daughter Jessica are hoping to raise £5,000 by doing a 6 day Arctic walk for Hand in Hand Trust in February.
They will travel on skis through the Arctic wilderness, each towing a 35 Kg sledge and will experience almost paralysing winds and temperatures of minus 35. We wish them the best of luck and will keep you in touch with their progress. If you would like to sponsor them go to: www.justgiving.com/MartinBeardallarcticchallenge

Thank you!

We have numerous people who regularly donate to Hand in Hand Trust. We also have had donations from over 30 different people/groups this year and would like to thank you all for your kind generosity. All donations help us bring a future to the children of Peru. Just £6 buys food and materials for one child per month while £150.00 will pay for books at one nursery for a year.
There are too many donors to list but we would like to thank the Besom Foundation for their recent donation which has bought lots of wonderful outdoor play equipment – climbing frames, see-saws, trampolines and a playhouse; Saga Charitable Trust for their continued support of the Arequipa nursery; the parishioners of the Sacred Heart Church; the students of Eastbourne College, and the many, many people who help fund Hand in Hand Trust so we can continue with our valuable work.
